This part of the site uses a small number of cookies and similar browser storage. None of them is used for advertising, and none is sold or shared with data brokers.
What is set, and why
Set by Google Analytics to distinguish visitors and sessions, so we can see which structural notes are read and which PDFs are downloaded. Aggregate only — we do not use it to identify individuals. Typically expires after two years; the session cookie after 24 hours.
Not a cookie but local browser storage. Remembers whether you have the Japanese terminology lines switched on, so the setting survives page changes. Never leaves your browser.
Session storage, not a cookie. Holds the utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign values from the link you arrived by, so that attribution survives as you move between notes. Discarded when the browser tab closes, and sent nowhere except Google Analytics.
The enquiry form is processed by Netlify. What you type into it — name, email, company, location and message — is stored so we can reply. It is not used for marketing, and no cookie is required to submit the form.
Campaign parameters
Links to this site shared on LinkedIn and elsewhere may carry utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign parameters in the URL. These tell us which channel a visit came from. They contain no personal information, and removing them from the address bar does not affect how the site works.
How to refuse or remove them
Analytics cookies are not required for anything on this site to function. You can block or delete them at any time:
— Use your browser's cookie settings to block third-party or all cookies for this domain.
— Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
— Use your browser's private or incognito mode, which discards storage when the window closes.
Every structural note remains readable in full, and every PDF remains downloadable, with cookies blocked. Nothing on this site is gated behind consent.
